workshop testimonials

  • "I just wanted to thank you for the FX6 intensive workshop last Saturday. Your expertise in cinematography was truly impressive. I appreciate the time and effort you put into making it a success, and I would like to take this opportunity to say that I would happily run water for you and your crew anytime! Thank you again for your time and contributions. I hope we have the opportunity to work together again in the future."

William Hanson – Digital Content Producer & Editor

  • "Thanks again for the other day; it was great to meet you and the crew. Super helpful to have been able to get my head around the many features of the camera that I wasn’t aware of (particularly the deep dive walkthrough of the menu & your thoughts on each function). It was particularly handy hearing about your real-world experience with the FX6, tailoring your feedback to expand upon the full capabilities of the camera. With your supportive crew members, there was a full spectrum of knowledge that catered to all of us, at all levels of skill and curiosity. No question was left unanswered, and it was exactly what I needed."

    Elder – Producer/DP

  • "Vid’s hands-on, 1 Day Intensive FX-6 Workshop is a refreshing change in a world of online tutorial monologues. The workshop wasn’t just hosted by Vid but also included other veterans of the industry who all use the FX6 for their productions. Sure, you get the run-through of Vid & his team's settings and techniques, but nothing can replace the back-and-forth discussion on the 'why,' followed by actual practical onsite shooting. Vid had also arranged a wide range of accessories we could all try (lenses, stabilizers, etc.) and soon had a dozen of us running around shooting footage, applying the new techniques we had discussed. With a bit of nervousness, our sample footage was then put up on a grading monitor where it was reviewed and discussed as a group under the eye of a professional Colour Scientist. How good is that! I certainly came away energized with a whole range of ideas to implement in my workflow, with Vid and his team more than happy to answer post-workshop questions. Highly recommended."

    Nathan – Camera Operator

  • "This course really was a complete learning package with the technical breakdown of the camera's functions and how to get the best out of it. Being able to better understand what the camera can do, how to set it up, and then putting that into practice with experienced camera operators for advice was amazing. Thanks for a great day!"
